Joker Wild is a standard video poker game played with a 53-card
deck (the 53rd card being the joker, or ‘wild card’), shuffled after
each game. The game is played between a player and the Dealer. Once a player
places a bet of one or more credits, he is dealt five cards. The player chooses
which of 5 cards he wants to hold and which to discard. The cards discarded
are replaced with new ones from the deck.
The objective is to get the best-paying winning hand. The game is called Joker
Wild because the joker serves as a replacement for any card. So it
can be used as the missing card to complete a straight or the fifth heart in
a heart flush.
The payout depends on the value of the hand a player is holding. The better
the player’s hand is, the higher the payoff is. If a player wins a hand,
he can increase his winnings by participating in the double playoff round.
